Alfred Francis papers and town of Wethersfield records, 1797-1877.

Alfred Francis was a selectman and justice of the peace for Wethersfield, Connecticut. The collection contains his personal letters, bills and receipts, and collected writs, estate inventories, probate records and deeds for Wethersfield residents. He also served as deacon of the Baptist Church and some of their records are included. Elias and Matthew Francis and Captain Samuel Buck are also represented in the collection, as is the printing firm Deming & Francis (correspondence and legal agreements). Wethersfield town records include records of the poor, lists of students in the Wethersfield School District, 1842-1856, documents related to roads and highways, financial records, and a list of injured Civil War Veterans from the town.
